No one's had a go at the elite teams, or the organisation, or the rules or anything for a bit. Have we exhausted all of the contenshus topics?
What about pre-marked maps, then?
yeah pre-marked maps. that's what we want. don't be backward. Buy that 900Mb OS raster tile! gulp.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER
Graham takes the view that plotting co-ordinates is a useful learning exercise for many entrants.
Grid refs! I still favour them despite the opposition, if you can't plot them in the right place you don't get the control, also in the days when we used to plot as part of the 5 hours(in a tq) if you can plot faster than the whizz kids you gain a bit of time on the road.
I don't mind plotting the grid refs but do sometimes forget whether to start at the top of the map or the side. I think Graham should help me out with palindrome grid refs eg 647647 or 551551. I will therefore not make any mistakes:)

Or running the event simultaneously across the country so that no-one has to travel too far to take part.

Or if he must include a 661562 then include a 562661 as well to make it fair.
PS Can I do the solo event to avoid endangering another human being?

I remember that night in Dalby - I lost the keys to my car and had to have the steering lock drilled off! Other than that it was a great event.
Hope it goes well - email me the dates and details and I post it on the site.
