Summer Breakfast

Polaris Challenge Forum: Forum: Summer Breakfast

It's my and Lucy's first Polaris.
Can we have some advice on wot we should have for breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday.
We'll be taking my own flapjacks (yummy), loads of energy bars, fruit, cakes (ginger) and rice and things for our dinners.
Do we want to be stuffed in the evening and have a light breakfast?
Any thoughts?

It might sound odd, but my advice is don't eat anything that you wouldn't normally eat on a weekend morning - hence if you 2 weetabix eat 3 or 4.

Unless that is you have time to experiment. My experience is that if I try and woof something down that is unusual in the middle of a race it starts repeating on me and sometime causing me to chuck.

If you do have a chance to try out food, recommend SIS GO bars - at a recently trailquest we were riding for 7 hours with 10mins stop for water the only food we had was bannas, Go bars, and some Gels for the desperate moments.

Breakfast was the usual muslie and milk for me.

Thanks James - I think cornflakes and Museli it is then.
I'm ever so honoured that you dragged yourself away from the AGA Delia. I feel ever so humble.
Think we may have some rice pudding for sweet after one of Wilf's pasta dishes.

Thanks again
Jim

p.s May even try the massage - without the rice pudding.
