Does anyone have any info on what is proposed? I have read the 24hr Polaris discussions with interest and would like to know what the likely format will be.

Rog is out here in Dubai next week and we will be putting the finishing touches to the event profile with the view of getting and entry form out soon

Its been two months since Grahams

"putting the finishing touches..... entry form out soon"

statement.

So what's going on with NAVITAC? As my return to Polaris (and Polaris related things) has been delayed by a reluctance to head to the Isle of Man (and other things to do) at Easter, this looks interesting and I'd like to know more.

Any news?

Tony
Still putting finishing touches to it.
Due to the fact that the whole of the NYMNP moorland area is a SSSI now I had to have meetings with the NPA and English Nature but that is sorted now, only need to meet with FE to sort out a few things.
Will review entry form with Rog tomorrow.
Final format looks like being as previosly discussed
Teams of up to 4, solos are allowed.
3 give out/transition slots but teams can change personnel at any time during event at HQ
mimimum of 2 to ride during night.
Electronic scoring
Other than that we are trying to keep it as simple as possible. Just trying to decide which electronic scoring to use and whether all members should be tagged.
Tony why not do the IOM event

Re: IOM. Can't speak for Tony, but from my very unscientific but fairly large poll of Polaris regulars the answer to "why not do the IOM event?" will be "can't afford it, I'll do something cheaper instead" for many people, including me.

PW has a point, although for me it's not so much the cost, more the hassle, it's much easier to just throw the bike in the car and head off on a Friday night (to spend a few hours marking maps in a darkened marquee - such fun... oops sorry, i'm slipping into a previous thread).

Also the Mrs was put off Polaris type things after experiencing minus 10 degrees in Galloway back in '93 so doesn't take to kindly to me dissapearing over the Easter weekend and "enjoying" myself when she gets stuck at home. For the same reason I never commissaire at MTB races over bank holidays as we prefer to go away together.

If it wasn't Easter I might be tempted but I feel it better to avoid a domestic over my return to Polaris!
