I am in total confusion.
I have to agree ......
And here we are 4 days later....
OK so our web site may not be the best and it is currently being developed to make it easier to update directly form the entry database.
Is the Summer 2003 event yet to be confirmed as the Peak District?
GrahamL. If possible could you give a probable area for the summer event asap. i.e north/scotland/midlands/south/west/east etc. Its the busiest time of year for hols at work and i dont want to find out the event is within the distance i'm prepared to drive but can't get hols off work. Some of us work crap shifts after all.
"As for future Polaris dates for 2003 then these are on the web site
Have you tried phoning up and asking? There are some really nice people at Polaris, who will tell you all there is to know in a couple of minutes. I may be pedantic, but the NW Pennines are in NW England. The website isn't updated very well, but everything ran pretty well before it appeared. I'm sure more staff could be employed to sharpen it up, but I don't see Polaris Apparel in the FTSE 100, and the cost of IT support (not cheap) would have to be passed on - higher entry fees? Don't believe too many of the tales of huge profits earned from the events.
HBF's point is still a valid one. Having gone to some expense (as I'm sure it was) to get the website up and running, the updating of information (entry forms, for instance) would have been a priority to avoid annoying all the people who Polaris rely on to attend events. It seems to me its in their interests.
HBF has a point and it is well made.
Cheers Graham. In the North, then we'll be there.
To add to Graham comments, the site has been updated with as much accurate information as is currently available. The IOM event has presented us with a series of extra problems and as this event was put together 3 years ago some things have changed ...and continued to change, hence the "slow release" of information. I did not want to put up one set of information only to find it had changed later.
Roger
Graham and Roger,
From the website and the entry forms I don't know whether there are any events other than the Isle of Man and I also don't know the rules for NAVITAC.
If you want to have a website, you have to accept that for many people this will "become" your company. All indications from this are that Endurance Events Ltd is due to cease trading very soon!!
No wonder no entries yet for Navitac - who would trust you with the money when you public face is one of such disaray.
Why not go for a simple easy to update website if you don't have the resources to update this one. Wheelpro was always one of my favourites - clear and easy to understand.
I really enjoy your events, but I think I will phone for details from now on. It may be less confusing.

Keep the website upto date - other websites seem to know when and where your events are being held before yours ! . Have a look at the number of frustrated posts on the various threads here, complaining about lack of update information .

Great they've sorted it out I thought. When I go on to the site what do I find?
The News box says that entry forms are n/a
According to this section the Autumn 2003 event is taking place in NW England (not NW Pennines)
The Entry Form menu has forms for the three 2003 events but not NAVITAC.
However these forms advise me that:
the Summer event 2003 is taking place in the Peak District (Just like 2002) on 12/13 July 2002.
The Autumn event 2003 is titled Autumn 2002 and is taking place 11/12 October 2002.
I can understand that it would be nice to have entry lists that are easier to update, and that it is exciting for yout IT people to start this project, but surely the basic updating of word and pdf docs could do with a bit of a review too?
Now I know I'm harsh, but I did think that when I mentioned the issue two weeks ago, you might have done a bit of housekeeping and tidied it all up.
But then I also expected other people to react a little more strongly to the confusion. So perhaps we get the website we deserve?

Obviously its easy to sit here of an evening critisising the whole outfit when there are probably good reasons for the current situation, but nevertheless, you can't help getting frustrated about the lack of decision/ organisation.
Surely picking up the phone isn't quite the point here - I thought a forum was a place where people could exchange information and views. We seem to be getting a lot of views, but very little information...

There are a number of things going on in the background that is giving us some major headaches with the IOM and Navitac. But that is no excuse for not maintaining the website, just pressure of other activities.
Both Roger and I have full time jobs, Roger with the Polaris business and me out in Dubai (I am returning in May and hope to get back for IOM). We developed the web site ourselves and is not easy to update, we are working on it and I understand all of your frustrations.
I cannot update it from here and Roger has been away at trade shows etc.
We have run the event for over 9 years without online entries and a web site but now realise that we have to make improvements, these will be done in time.
In the last 2 years we have made major improvements to the event but FMD did affect our business.
I don't think there is any confusion about the dates or Venues on the eb site or entry form. Information has to be put on entry forms by a date for printing and we have to send out entry forms as not everyone has access to the internet.
The fact that I advised you that the Autumn event was NW Pennines was not confusion just further detail that has now been sorted.

The Summer event venue is still subject to some debate as we are running into problems with the CROW Act and access to the Moorland areas. There are more and more restrictions coming into place all of the time WRT upland bird nesting. But it will be in the North of England, as soon as we have a definite venue we will let you know. As per normal we will get the entry form out after the Spring event as is our normal practise.

The NAVITAC is after the Spring event so I have felt less reason to finalise the updates. Over the next few weeks more info will be available but in the mean time if you need an entry form call 01246 240218 or register on line (see the front page)

"the site has been updated with as much accurate information as is currently available"
Last time then I shut up!
The 2003 entry forms still say 2002 on them and the summer one shown the Peaks as the venue! This is wrong and confused me - its' that simple.
This forum has turned me all petty in my old age.
I really enjoy and appreciate your events. I am sure you have had difficulties following FMD. I wish them over, I wish you sucessful events this year and I wish for a more simple, clear, easily updated website.
Now, off to count the drawing pins in my box of 200 - I wouldn't want WH Smith only selling me 199 would I ?

I think there is a cut off date for cheaper entries for this event set at 1st March. Has there been any change of heart about the fees structure yet? This will influence whether 'I' enter as a pair or a solo.
Cheers, Gary
