Control 10 says "lifebuoy by pond". Ain't no pond on my map ! New pond ?? Out of date map ? Very cautious landowner with micro-pond ?

Tell me I'm not misplotting the co-ordinates !

No pond on my map either. Must be more of a puddle than a pond!

Surely descriptions are more on the ground descriptions.
I notice some of the GR are 8 point refs.

If you look carefully at the map you will see that a stream runs parallel to the track, therefore a pond could be there. All descriptions are on the ground, and not map features.

Check out the latest version of the OS sheet. The pond is there honest!
It is shown on the map provided for the event.

You can see it on the 1:25000 map here (just below the sheep pens)

And also in this aerial photo (I think the 2 rectangular objects are both ponds).

Liam, How deep is the water, and how warm is it?

At a guess, deep enough to drown, and probably too cold for a swim (",)
