First of all a quick thank you to the organisers of this years Autumn event. This was the 3rd Autumn competition I have taken part in and they have all been excellent.
The MSR Zoid is a well built two man tent - I didn't buy it it specifically for Polaris, but as a durable, easy-to-put-up, lightweight two man tent that would be comfortable enough for week long excursions as well as being small enough (when packed) whilst still being sufficiently light to take on a PC.
I am looking to buy a new tent for future competitions and have shortlisted the MSR Zoid. I saw a couple on Saturday night but didn't get a chance to speak to the owners. Has anyone got one / used one? Any opinions?
Thanks
Kevin

I have the Zoid 2 which weighs about 1.9kg. The inner is constructed mainly of mesh on the upper - which can make it a bit cold if its windy, but you never get any condensation. It has two large doors on either side and vestibules large enough to stash kit. As the whole side opens up to allow (easy) entry, cooking in the doorway in the wet can be a bit tricky. Its easy to put up (two poles), the fly is a well cut durable fabric, fully taped and in a tasteful color.
If you're not very big, or have really close friends then I guess the Zoid 1.5 would do, if you were buying with only polaris in mind - its 0.6kg lighter.
