Polaris Challenge France 2004

With the organisational success of the 2003 French Polaris Challenge, We are pleased to announce that the 2nd French Polaris Challenge will be held in the Ariege on the 6-7 November 2004.

The Format will be the same, a fete weekend or a Summer format for the English participants. Both days will start and finish in the same place.

There are limited beds for hire around the area and these will be distributed on a first come first served basis. Note that these are beds and not rooms, so you could find yourselves sharing a room with someone you do not know.

There is also camping available on site. Food and drink will be available on site for purchase.

On Saturday night there will be a festival dinner, which proved an immense success last year, with at least 3 courses and wine, not forgetting Leau de mort and aperitifs in with the price. This is not to be missed and this again will be on a first come first served basis, as the numbers are limited.

All prices are as follows;

Entry fee per team of 2 people 100
Bed and Breakfast 25 per person per night
Festival banquet 20 per person
Camping Free
Airport pick up and return 25 per person

Planes from Gatwick-Toulouse/Easy Jet Birmingham-Toulouse/BMI Baby?
Stanstead-Carcassone/Ryanair.
There will be a pick up from the airports of Carcassone and Toulouse on Friday 5th November and a return to the airports on Sunday evening 7th and Monday morning 8th. These must be booked in advance.

Remember, the riding in the Ariege is superb as most of the course is off road, and the views are stunning.
The weather here in November is Warm and sunny after 9.00 in the morning when the sun has had a chance to get out, and even the rain is warm as was commented on Last years challenge.

The first prize for the Winning Team, is a family week at Petit Paradis, Saturday to Saturday, with a great assortment of other goodies on offer for the runners up.

It would help in the logistics of this weekend if we could have entries as soon as possible, rather than the usual flurry of activity in the last week.

For those of you who came last year, we will make sure the riding is as good, and for those of you who will make it a first; perhaps you should read the comments from the forum pages at www.polarischallenge.co.uk.

My friends and associates here in the Ariege all look forward to giving you a wonderful weekend with the typical hospitality of the area.

Good luck in all your events for the forth coming year, and dont forget to put the 6/7th November in you diaries

Regards

Martin Wilcock
Organiser France.

I'm roped in again to set the event, and unlike last year I'll be there to help run it on the weekend as well. I had such a good time last year I'm going to get some friends to do it
